SUZUKI GS750 1979 V REG ROAD TAX AND MOT EXEMPT/
Kick start and electric start. The bike qualifies as an historic vehicle now and the new logbook will come back stating this so you get free road tax and no need for an MOT.
I owned this bike for about 18 months then I sold it to a mate because he wanted to restore it and build something different. He had the bike for around 15 months until I brought it back off him so all the work has been done by him and is a lot better than what I can do.
The bike was stripped down to zero and rebuilt so all new bearings, new front tyre, brake pads, brakes serviced, the engines cylinder head was removed for new base and head gaskets, re-shimmed, everything checked, frame shot blasted and sprayed, new paintwork, original exhaust downpipes were used but after market cone silencers fitted. Nice alloy rear mudguard, new seat etc. The forks and brakes are gpz600 correctly fitted with the wider 1977 gs750 brake discs. Carbs were split, fully cleaned, checked, bigger jets etc fitted.
Things still to finish depending on taste and style : the minimum is to fit a mirror, there is too much traffic nowadays to not need one in my opinion. The rest you could ignore or get round to doing but the bike had not been used for years when I got it and the starter motor used to not engage every so often because of this. Now it is used it had stopped this until today so it starts about 9 out of 10 times on the starter but it is a 30 min job to replace it. There is no neutral light, not sure why. The clock is woeful, we thought it was an expensive one but it isnt. The speedo does not work although this could be a magnet missing from the front wheel or because you have to input tyre size etc and I am clue less at it. It does light up and show the indicators working and main beam but an old fashioned clock would look and work better. The front brake is set soft, I like to feather the brake but easily adjustable if you like instant bite and although the fork oil and seals are new it still seems to weep when not used, puzzling but could just be cheap seals. The chain guard needs adjusting, drags sometimes and the wiring could do with tidying up.
The bike starts, runs, rides, clutch works, gears work, sounds nice but has only been ridden around the block. It will need a few short test journeys to make sure it is all okay, it has had a full rebuild so it is worth checking it all over.
Overall it is a really tidy bike and only for sale due to down sizing my gs collection. I will be selling one of my original 1977 gs750,s and a gs550 soon also.
Selling as an ongoing project purely because it has not been ridden on the roads and the points stated so bid as you see fit. I can deliver the bike within 100 mile of ng16 but message for a delivery quote before bidding and a £100 deposit must be paid before delivery. Any questions please ask.
