For sale is a very good condition 1981 Moto Guzzi 1000SP. As you can you see from the images it no longer retains it’s original spec and now is more similar in appearance to a T3. Although not original, all parts remain faithful to Moto Guzzi styling of the era.
I have owned the bike since April 2017 where it was purchased from a local classic bike dealer. The bike is an import from Italy so the clocks are in km (I have calculated the miles for the advert as 20500).
Since owning the bike I have done various jobs listed below to improve its appearance and also enhance it’s performance.
– The bike has been fitted with Electronic Sachs ignition, although the original points remain in place and can be easily switched back over if needed by reconnecting the wires with the bullet connectors (always good to have a backup!).  – All brake lines are now steel braided – Lucas style indicators  – Any tired looking parts were powder coated – Original seat was refoamed and recovered with a custom stitched version made by viking vinyls
Servicing that has been done in the past 2 years:
Oil & Filter twice Bevel oil Gearbox oil Brake fluid Fork oil Valve clearance Carbs ultrasonic cleaned, new jets & balanced Greased head bearings Spark plugs replaced
I do all my own servicing and have kept a record of when all jobs were done. It is now due Engine, Gear & Bevel oil, so I’ll have all these jobs done before it gets collected.
It’s tyres were replaced last year (Bridgestone BT045) and still have 75%-ish life left in them. The battery is a brand new Yuasa lead acid.
The bike runs absolutely perfectly, starts first time every time on the choke. I’ve been using the bike as transport on most sunny days, as well as touring around Ireland on it and have no problems at all. If you come for a test ride (money in hand) you will find it to run exceptionally well, with great handling and brakes.
Any questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call.
