Being sold on behalf of an elderly chap who’s clearing out his bike collection.
Bike has been in his ownership for over forty years and kept in a dry garage under cover.
It’s a restoration project and needs a complete overhaul, the tank is fibreglass with evidence of repairs. We’ve made no attempt to ‘clean it up’, this is how we found the bike.
With fresh fuel she fired into life second kick and sat idling nicely after almost 30 years of being stored. Amazing.
The Spitfire was renowned in the day as the fastest bike BSA made, Wikipedia says of it:
“At introduction in 1966, it was the fastest standard BSA ever produced and the fastest standard motorcycle tested by Motor Cycle with a best run at 123 mph and average of 119.2 mph The Spitfire was used for travelling Marshalls’ course duties at the 1967 Isle of Man TT races”.
We have the UK V5, owners manuals, brochures and a stack of history and receipts for the bike going back 40 years.
