Honda CJ250 Street Scrambler, built by Simon Francis Services (as featured in Performance Bikes and Practical Sportsbikes magazine!) and it has been a ground up build from scratch. It’s had the rear subframe modified to suit the seat, with a custom built rear mudguard that incorporates the tail light, new chassis bearings throughout and everything powder coated satin black. The motor has had new pistons and rings, valve guides and seals, cam was a new old stock one and it also has new camchain and guilds blades in too, the motor has been painted in PJ1 engine enamel. Carbs have been ultrasonically cleaned and wear new Ramair pod filters. The exhaust is a bespoke stainless item made to suit the style I was after, sort of a semi street Scrambler upswept style with a stumpy period style tapered can. It has new shocks, tyres and tubes, new seals and pads for the caliper, new chain and sprockets, grips and flattrack style bars, new head and tail light, and pretty much anything else that you can think of!
The wiring has been simplified and now runs a tiny switch on the bar for high/low beam and horn operation purely for a cleaner look. The seat under tray carries all the electrics plus the ignition switch and is well tucked out of the way for the minimalist look that I was trying to achieve.
It’s MOT and Tax exempt, and is an absolute  ball to ride! It draws masses of attention wherever it’s parked and it really stands out in a sea of ever uglier plastic missiles, giving you that raw and basic ingredient of motorcycling that is missing today, it sounds awesome although it’s still being run indue to the new rebuild! I’ll probably have a few more miles clocked up in the next few days as it’s too tempting to leave parked up in this weather.
It took two years with countless hours and expense over that period, and I am pleased with the end result. But years of GSXR 11 ownership has ruined it for me, and the romantic idea of buzzing along steadily is unfortunately not my thing…….hence the sale!
May be able to deliver in the East Yorkshire area if needed.
