Here I have for sale a real little treasure of mine. A fully re-built Honda CX650 Eurosport in the Cafe Racer style. I have 250 pictures of the build process. It is axle driven so no chain to catch trousers, adjust, lubricate or change. I have lots of receipts from the build and a Haynes manual plus lots of parts from the original bike, spare filters ect that are all available for the buyer. V5 in my name with over 11 months MOT. Ready to go to enjoy the summer on a completely original and notoriously reliable bike with a quirky V-Twin engine. Thousands has been spent. Currently showing 45964 miles, MOT history show it passed its test in 2019 at 45588 so only 376 miles since completing the rebuild. 2 sets of keys.
Stainless Steel BoltsAcross the whole bike, bolts / fixings have been replaced with stainless steel to stop corrosion and retain clean shine where it is appropriate to do so. Engine, carbs, frame….. Some fixings are one of a kind and weren’t able to be replaced so cleaned up but not new.
Powercoating & PaintingAll parts have been painted or blasted and powder coated.
Frame and SeatStripped back to metal, modified to cafe style by TripleHumph which have done hundreds of such conversions. This was then powder coated ready for rebuild. A new custom seat manufactured to fit this bike.
Front Forks / suspensionStripped, rechromed and rebuilt by Phillpots a chroming specialist. Adjustable damping and spring rate. New headrace bearing set.
Rear SuspensionUpgrade taken from Yamaha R6 with adjustable bump and rebound damping.
BrakesCalipers sent off to BCS automotive for rebuild with new parts and painting.New rear disc from David Silver Honda spares.Goodridge braided brake hoses throughout with stainless ends.Reservoirs stripped, cleaned rebuilt.
Wheels and tyresPowder coated in grey, balanced with brand new Cobra Sport tyres from Demon Tweaks. New wheel bearings and Speedo sensor fitted.
EngineFull engine strip with all new filters, gaskets and seals. Painted with POR15 engine enamel. Powder coated rocker covers and badges. Water system flushed out, new thermostat, temperature sensor and mechanical pump seal. Starter clutch components replaced.
CarburettorsPolished top and bottom covers, cleaned and re-jetted to match metering required for free flow induction and exhaust. New cables and Domino Grips added to the handle bars.
InductionAir box removed and replaced with pod filters.
ExhaustCustom made in stainless steel. Increased diameter for gas flow. Currently has a chrome baffle fitted which can be removed, it was added last year for MOT purposes but wasn’t actually needed. I just did not get round to removing after.
ElectricsWiring loom stripped and re-taped with only the required wiring. New Acewell digital speedometer added. Lithium Ion battery fitted in new holder hidden between the frame. New Led headlight in retro holder fitted with custom fork mounts. Indicators moved to the end of the handle bars with running lights in white. Rear lights incorporated into the frame with indicators built in. Bosch horn fitted to replace orginal below headlight. Starter key moved to side of frame. Has a battery charger / monitor that comes with the bike.
Fuel TankCleaned, shape modified, holes welded, POR15 tank sealer and professionally painted.
MirrorsNew anodised aluminium arms and frames with circular mirrors.
Bad bitsThere are some marks on the fuel tank and bubbling in the paint. Doesn’t cause any issue but might want re-finishing. I was going to put some decals on the tank but never did.
Tachometer (revs) doesn’t read correctly but I’m normally looking where I’m going and don’t need to know how many revs I’m doing so haven’t fixed yet. It requires a small change to the wiring for the clocks. Fitting instructions included to help resolve.
